Steps to Make Holes in Your Jeans
Step 1. Marking Your Jeans
First, you need to wear jeans and mark a hole shape your jeans with the help of fabric chalk.
Step 2. Making Straight Cuts
Now place your cutting board inside your jeans right under the area where you want to make holes. Then with the help of a box cutter, make the first cut of the marked length.
Make another cut parallel to the first cut with a 1” gap. Thus you will have a band strip in your jeans.
Step 3. Preparing for Unthreading
Behind the back of the strip, you will see some horizontal white threads. Some of them will be broken from the middle, while others will be unbroken threads.
With the help of a plucker, first, pluck out the extra cut threads from the back of the strip. Then separate some of the unbroken threads from the strip until the blue vertical strands are separable.
Step 4. Unthreading
Now it’s time to pluck out the vertical blue strands from the strip. Pluck the vertical blue threads by pulling out just a few strands at a time until the whole strip is unthreaded.
Step 5. Repeat
Now repeat the above steps to make the hole wider. You need to unread the denim strip by strip to make a hole of desired size and shape.
Step 6. Finishing
Now you will find some sudden steps in your jeans that you need to smooth out. With the help of a plucker, pull some raw strands from sudden steps. Then you can even wash your jeans to soften the edges of the hole that you have made.
Final Result
After you have completed all the above steps, the holes in your jeans will look as shown in the picture. You can use the same procedure on other parts of the jeans to make such elegant-looking holes.
