Step 1. Clipping Zipper onto Fabric

Place the fabric on the top-right position over your work area and place the zipper on it with the zipper pull facing down. Attach pins or clippers to keep the zipper in its set position during sewing.

Step 2. Sewing the Zipper

Now place it under your sewing machine so that the zipper foot is evenly over the edge. In this way, you would have even a seam allowance.

If there is a smaller zipper pull, you can sew it in one go. However, if there is a wider zipper pull, you must break the sewing into two halves.

First, you must position the zipper foot on one end and sew it below it. When you reach the zipper pull, you need to stop sewing and pull the zipper pull below, and then continue sewing the zipper edge over the zipper pull.

Also, you need to do back-and-forth stitching towards the edges of the zipper for a better and long-lasting stitch.

Repeating the same procedure on the other side would complete your zipping task.

Step 1. Stitching Two Pieces of Fabrics

Step 2. Positioning the Zipper

Now you need to position the zipper with the zipper pull upside down, placed at the center of the stitch. With the help of needles, you can firmly position the sipper on the fabric.

Step 3. Sewing the Zipper

Now begin with a back-and-forth stitch, and then sew all around the zipper. When you reach the edge, lift the zipper foot, turn it 90 degrees and stitch the bottom of the zipper and then the other side.  Remember that if the zipper pull is wider, you must sew it in parts.
